LoanerTrak 2 + LoanerTrak WEB = The Best of Both Worlds

We've invested over 5 years of research and development into the latest LoanerTrak product. Two versions were created and thoroughly evaluated during this time. The first version was a 100% client-server solution utilizing a proprietary database, and the second was a 100% browser/web based solution.

Extensive testing revealed that neither application filled every requirement of today's medical loaner departments. Each had its benefits, and its each had its shortcomings. For example, the client-server application provided the necessary processing speed of loaner items, allowed for multitasking and multiple screens, and the utilization of accessories such as barcode scanners in a fast-paced environment. However, this apporach did not allow for browser-based (web) connectivity by outside users like field representatives and customers.

The browser-based (web) application allowed users to easily connect to the application through a browser, but lacked adequate processing speed in certain functions such as receiving lists of individual items, and could not be used effectively with accessories like bar-code scanners. Multitasking functions, such as having multiple booking orders, receiving screens, open simultaneously etc. were extremely limited. Full browser-based applications are also at the mercy of slow internet speeds during peak usage times.

The chart below illustrates the benefits of both the client-server approach and the browser-based approach, and how the new LoanerTrak application utilizes the best of both solutions.

Directly query loaner tables using many 3rd party MySQL database tools to run custom queries and reports. Future versions will allow customer to run databases in other formats such as: Microsoft SQL Server™ and Oracle™.
 
Open multiple screens simultaneously
High demands placed on loaner staff require them to open multiple screens simultaneously (booking order screens, receiving, inquiry, etc.)
 
Utilize accessories/bar-code scanners
LoanerTrak has an integrated barcode deciphering tool that allows customers to read and reformat almost any barcode format to greatly increase speed, efficiency and accuracy in daily functions.
 
Custom modules may be added to application by customer.
LoanerTrak 2 contans a custom program launcher that allows loaner departments to run applications within LoanerTrak specific to their environment.
 
Customers & Field Reps can acces their loaner information via browser/phone
Secure (128-bit encryption) browser-based screens allow field representatives and customers to access their account information, make inquiries or request loaner equipment through their computer or smart phone.
 
Customers can run the LoanerTrak WEB application on their server
Customers have the option of running LoanerTrak WEB on their own servers if they choose. Or, Burns Technologies can host the web application.

Data migration services provided by Burns Technologies can greatly accelerate the transition to LoanerTrak 2. Depending on your loaner department's current data structure, your loaner department can be up and running with LoanerTrak 2 in as little as one evening.
